"What can you say?"
These were the words of a very speechless Teresa Janssen, the aunty of 18-month-old Logan Delaney who is facing a new cancer battle with neuroblastoma after relapsing when he had a bleed on the brain caused by three aggressive, cancerous tumours.
It was for this reason Logan's parents Rose Drayton and Aamon Delaney, and his family organised a fundraiser at the Railway Bowling Club on February 29.
And what a response they received.
The family was able to raise $14,500 from the night that involved auctions, raffles, games and a lot of generous people coming together to support a local family.
Sergeant Martin Ling was also present at the fundraiser with his highway patrol vehicle, showing Logan, other youngsters and families the inside and outside of the car.
Miss Galaxy Australia 2020 finalist for NSW, Melany Wells of Trundle, too was present to support the important event.
The money raised will help alleviate the financial pressures for the family as they prepare for Logan's next lot of treatment, covering every day expenses such as travel and medication.
Teresa said they have also had a great deal of support from the Companions through Cancer group.
"We can't thank everyone enough," she said.
"I was asked if we had a goal and I said I'd like to raise at least $1500, and I was told we'd get $5000 at the least," she laughed.
"It was great, just fantastic."
Teresa and the family were blown away by the support and wanted to thank everyone involved for "everything".
"It's amazing how the community, the people came together to support us in so many ways," she said.
"It wasn't all about giving money but just by being there, and even if it was just giving Rose a hug.
"It was the little things... There was an old lady who went through her kitchen and donated items she no longer needed to the auction.
"A big, big thank you to all the businesses, the people and those who shared Logan's story."
Last July the Parkes toddler was diagnosed with stage four high risk neuroblastoma - a cancer that develops from immature nerve cells found in several areas of the body, most often arising in the small glands on top of the kidneys.
