The 2018 Club Mudgee Max Potential program kicks off next month. The empowering and transformational leadership development program for young adults from four Mid-Western region schools embarks on it’s 12th year. The 22 week program commences with training for the volunteer community coaches on Saturday, February 10. The first session with the young adults will be held on Monday, February 26. Club Mudgee is the major program partner and venue for all group sessions. Max Potential program manager Damian Walsh, says, “we have once again attracted a talented group of volunteers who will be giving their time and experience to support the year ten students on their leadership and development journey”. A key aspect of the program encourages students to focus on the local community by implementing a community service project. This phase will commence at the end of May. The final session of the program will take place on the evening of Friday, August 3. “This will be a Showcase Expo of the young adults’ Max Potential journeys based around a display of their community service projects, demonstrating their creative talents and personal growth,” Damien said. “We invite the community to attend the showcase, so lock the date in your diary now. “As well as supporting young adults, coaches benefit from their own personal development and learning a coaching framework that can be applied to their professional and personal lives.” The schools involved in the program are Mudgee High , St Matthews Catholic, Kandos High and Gulgong High. “We have a couple of places still available for year 10 school students. Final applications must close when these places are filled or no later than Tuesday, February 13. Contact your high school for more details,” he said.
