The Parkes team, comprising Robert Brooke, Keith MacRae, Sue Griffey, Karl Martin and team manager Paul Thomas, finished the month-long challenge with a grand total of 377,981 steps.
The final figure landed them runners-up in the National Teams competition some 8500 steps behind eventual winners Foot Loosen Up.
However, in the Ex-Service Organisations competition the Parkes RSL Plodders, as they were known, finished as the leading team.
Team manager Paul was thrilled with the outcome, as were the local team members.
Paul said the result was and can be attributed to the efforts put in by team members, especially as most attend regular gym sessions which are provided by the Parkes Services Club.
Paul was especially proud of the efforts of the team's two senior members, 85-year-old Keith and 77-year-old Robert who both finished inside the top 10 in their respective age divisions.
