The majority of students in town returned to school for 2020 on Wednesday, with kindy students following suit a day or more later.
Five-year-olds Tatum Lawler and Sophie Doughty, and four-year-old Olivia Doering are among the 45 kindy students starting at Parkes Public School on Monday.
Middleton Public School will have 35 new starters on Monday as well, while Parkes East Public School has 44 and Parkes Christian School, 17, who all start on Thursday this week.
Holy Family Primary School has 20 kindy students beginning on Friday this week.
Except for Bogan Gate Public School who returned to class on Wednesday - welcoming two kindy students, the village schools begin a week later.
Tullamore and Peak Hill central schools return on February 5 and Tullamore's five kindies start on February 6.
Tatum is the daughter of Tim and Tayla Lawler, Sophie is the eldest child of Tiffany and Shaun Doughty and Olivia, the daughter of Liz Barber and Evan Doering - and the trio are so excited about going to big school, they can't wipe the smiles off their faces.
While they said they didn't quite know what you do at big school - at least not yet - there was one thing they did know.
That they wanted to play with the toys, especially the doll house. Tatum was also looking forward to drawing.
It's also the first time all three sets of parents are sending a child to school, with some feeling good and others a little anxious.
"I'm dreading doing the lunch boxes everyday," mum Tiffany laughed.
"A little anxious... Just that it's your first born going to school," dad Tim said.
"She's (Olivia) ready so I feel fine," mum Liz said.
