His last service in Parkes was on Sunday, Australia Day, during which parish members enjoyed an Australia Day theme.
Rev Spindler said he has been "called out".
He and his wife Reverend Crystal Spindler, who has retired from her role as Priest-In-Charge for St John's Anglican Parish of Forbes, plan to move to Toowoomba to be with family.
"I've enjoyed being here," Rev Spindler said.
"A little bit of my heart will stay in Parkes, my prayers will be for the parish and Parkes."
Rev Spindler, who is originally from Cobargo, has been a reverend for 10 years.
He and Crystal moved to town in December 2016, with Rev Spindler commissioned as Rector replacing Rev Canon Brett Watterson and Crystal originally as Vicar of the Anglican Parish.
Prior to that the couple served in Toowoomba and before that, the Riverina Diocese.
Rev Crystal was Parish Priest in Forbes in early 2017 before being commissioned to Priest-In-Charge in December.
"The biggest thing for me that stands out in Parkes is the love of the people and the way they pull together to be a church as one," Rev Spindler said.
"Like with the urgent maintenance work for the church [last March].
"I've had great ministry through the deb ball, nursing homes, the RSL Sub Branch and ministers fraternity, which is a big thing for yourself."
Rev Crystal said she has had three of the best years serving in her role for Forbes and Cumnock.
Sadly, a recurring injury has led to her stepping back from the role.
