Aleks Berzins from Exeter secured the coveted Golden Plough for an incredible second year running.
Peak Hill hosted the prestigious single furrow competition this year on 31 May and 1 June, which drew entrants from as far away as Toowoomba in Queensland, as well as nearby in Peak Hill, Cowra and Dubbo.
Joining Aleks on the grass podium in the Golden Plough were Jason Gavenlock from Cowra in second place and Michael Martin from Toowoomba in third.
Results from some of the other competitions include:
Ladies Plough: Jocelyn Cockbain from Tamworth.
Veterans Plough: First David Martin from Toowoomba, second John Marshall from Dubbo.
Pairs Plough: First Jason and Kate Gavenlock from Cowra, second Michael and David Martin from Toowoomba and third Steve Lindsay from Peak Hill and Aleks Berzins from Exeter.
Novice Plough: First David Hollier from Windsor.
Log Snig: First Aleks Berzins, second Jason Gavenlock and equal third Brett Garlin from Wongarbon and David Martin.
Straightest Furrow: David Martin.
Overall Handler (horsemanship): Jason Gavenlock.
The Golden Plough will return to Peak Hill again next year for its 50th competition and organisers are encouraging everyone from across the region to head over and check it out.
