The community came together for a day of celebration and fun at the annual Parkes NAIDOC Family Fun Day at Bushman's Hill.

To kick off the day Spicy Mercury, a local young and upcoming band, set the scene in the amphitheatre with quality entertainment.

Charlie Oraha conducted the Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony supported by Rose Jones from the local Auslan group and Piper and Oscar from Parkes East Public School before the awards ceremony was held.

A sausage sizzle was enjoyed by all which was cooked by Beon Energy and Parkes Rural Fire Service and Johnson's Bakery provided beautiful NAIDOC cupcakes to add to the celebration.

Parkes High School's Guwal Dance Group also put on a beautiful performance before musician Shane Riley took to his guitar and ended the celebrations on a high note.

See all the fun our photographer Jenny Kingham captured on the day.
