The annual Parkes Business Awards, held in the newly renovated Starlight Room at the Parkes Services Club, celebrated the work and achievement of individuals and businesses across 14 categories.
With the night taking place in October - the month the Pink Up Your Town fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation is held and Parkes hopping on board - the Parkes Chamber of Commerce awards committee saw it as a great opportunity to play their part.
The awards featured a pink theme and $5 from every ticket sold at The Henrys was donated to Pink Up Parkes, coming to a total of $1260.
Parkes Business Chamber president Geoff Rice and members Casey Ferguson and Belinda McCorkell presented Pink Up Parkes president Carolyn Rice the cheque on the night.
The Henrys belonged to Kerin Physio Co this year, with the business winning the Excellence in Professional Services Award and the prestigious Henry, Business of the Year.
Rachel Kerin of Kerin Physio Co also shared the Excellence in Small Business Award with Jess Galvin and Rebecca Miller from La Bella Medispa.
This also wasn't La Bella Medispa's only award, with the business accepting the Excellence in Personal and Lifestyle Services Award.
Parkes PCYC and its manager Tim Watts also had a successful evening claiming the Excellence in Social Enterprise Award and Tim, the Outstanding Business Leader title.
Outstanding Young Employee went to Jessica Bourke from Hughes & Co Lawyers & Conveyancing and Jess Galvin from La Bella Medispa was named Outstanding Young Entrepreneur.
The Excellence in Hospitality and Tourism Services Award went to Peak Hill Caravan Park, while the Excellence in Retail Award was presented to Regional Business Supplies.
Winner of the Excellence in Manufacturing, Agribusiness, Mine, Industrial and Trades Award was Regos Plus and Burns Precision Agriculture was recognised for Excellence in Innovation.
Mid-West Cleaning Home Repairs Service was the Start Up Superstar and the Excellence in Micro Business Award was presented to The Parkes Phoenix.
The 2019 Ken Birch Memorial Hall of Fame was awarded posthumously to former Parkes Public School principal Leanne Breaden, who passed away at the end of 2017 from ovarian cancer.
The award was accepted on her behalf by husband Peter Breaden and son Joel.
The Ken Birch Memorial Award recognises those who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business direction and innovative ideas, while providing inspiration to a new generation of upcoming business leaders.
And the Excellence in Business winner was Ray White Parkes, Forbes and Condobolin, with sisters Jodie Dunn and Tracie Robertson accepting the award.
NSW Business Chamber representative Vicki Seccombe took the opportunity on the night to present Tracie her 2019 NSW Business Award Regional Winner for Outstanding Business Leader.
