For those who don't know, here's a bit about Swifty and its owner Jack Mill from the Central West Car Club in Parkes.
Jack started out as an auto-electrician then followed up with his mechanic's trade and has been dual qualified for 2 or 3 years.
He has previously featured here with his red VS Holden ute ADHD VS.
"I'd done about 160-180 sets in the VS," laughed Jack.
"So it was time for a change."
Now for those feeling a little confused, Jack's passion is burnouts - punching the go pedal to spin the back wheels and create as much smoke as you can.
And 160 sets means that Jack has literally burnt out 160 sets of tyres in competition.
"The VS motor was still going strong but I wanted to build something different that nobody had done before," Jack said.
"We saw a paddock basher for sale for $500 and I guess that's where the craziness started" he laughed.
Now before you start thinking this is a mock up drag car with a little 4 cylinder, think again.
The 5.7 litre LS1 V8 came out of the ute and made its way into the bay of this 2007 Suzuki Swift.
"We started by pulling out the little 1300 - it still runs if anyone wants it.
"Then we chopped out the firewall and front end. We kept the front floor for the seats and chopped out the rea," Jack said.
Jack did all the fabrication work on the chassis, diff and the four link suspension with a bit of help from his dad Scott; and all this in the backyard shed, while brother Ricky handled the bodywork and paint.
"We decided on the iconic Suzuki Swift yellow and it's the perfect colour to stand out from the crowd," Jack said.
From start to finish it was a 10 month build and Jack is deservedly proud.
"Big thanks go to my family for their help and a special mention to the fellas at Blokes Advice who've supported me and talked about men's mental health," Jack said.
Don't be fooled, this is no registered road car, although take away the 20" x 10" rims and the tubs and it would look right at home in a hairdresser's carpark.
This is a serious burnout car and has already competed at Leeton Burnout Mayhem and the famous Canberra Summernats.
If you want to see more, Jack and Swifty will be at Bathurst Autofest on March 9.
You can also read about him in this month's Street Machine magazine.
