Tickford Racing's Best, who sits second in the Super2 standings, has been an excitement machine in just his second season of action in development series, and he'll be one to watch in the main event this weekend.
"I think the realisation that I've got this drive will all set in at the driver parade," Best said.
"The nerves will probably kick in during that first stop but after that I'll settle in and do the best job that I can."
Best has enjoyed great results in the past at the Bathurst circuit, finding a podium back in February's Mount Panorama 500 and achieving his best 2020 season finishes at the track.
"As a whole it's been a strong year for my second season in Super2. The Tickford move has been a positive one and I'm really looking forward to racing alongside Jack," Best said.
"It's been a good season. The first time at Bathurst we got gifted the [series] lead and we did what we could to try and hold on to it. We struggled in the first round at Townsville but got on top of things to retain second place.

"Then we got our first race win and pole the next time out and we held on to second in the standings. Last weekend in Sydney we struggled with pace but the rain was the equaliser for the field, and then we showed that we can be the fastest again."
Best now steps into a competitive Tickford Mustang with Le Brocq - one that has been steered to seven top 10 results in 2021.
"I think we're a pretty good matchup in terms of pace - we're not too far away from each other - even height-wise we're similar, and we get along well. I feel that we could be a bit of a dark horse going into the 1000," Best said.
"I've done the one Bathurst pre-test day at Winton and then the additional drivers session at Sydney - that's all I've had - but the car is not worlds apart from the Falcon. There's a little bit more aero and everything's a bit more modernised."
