Peter Yelland, a Lachlan Premier Cricket veteran, coaches his son Harry in the under 12's Parkes Lachlan representative side while this year his nephew Jock is now playing alongside him for the Parkes Colts in Premier Cricket.
On Saturday, the Colts took on the Cats in a local derby and while the Colts went down by five wickets, Peter (87) and Jock (60) combined for a big partnership that was the foundation of their side's total of 5/197 off 40 overs.
Peter, who has a rock solid technique and is an experienced operator, is the perfect foil for his expansive nephew.
Their impressive individual efforts paled in comparison to Harry's innings on Sunday morning though, with the youngster scoring an astonishing 172* in Parkes' 164 run win over Dubbo in the under 12's Lachlan Junior Cricket competition.
Parkes scored 5/197 off their allotted 32 overs, meaning Harry scored an incredible 71.6 per cent of his side's runs, and when looking at international records that's quite the achievement.
One of the greatest batsman of all time, Sir Vivian Richards, holds the record for the highest percentage of runs in a One Day International - he scored 69.48 per cent of the West Indians' runs in a game against England in 1984.
Harry's knock wasn't his first big innings for the season either, with the rising star falling just short of a century two weeks ago when he struck 97* for Parkes against Wellington/Gilgandra.
After that innings, Peter mentioned improved running between the wickets might see Harry crack a ton - and to say he managed to improve that somewhat would be putting it mildly!
