A bonza day dawned and 32 bizarre and brightly dressed bowlers were out in force at the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club on Tuesday!

Congratulations to all the bonny lassies for embracing the theme of the President's Day Mini Carnival!
Thanks so much to the ground control blokes for preparing the greens and surrounds so beautifully, especially after the bountiful rain!
First off, the poor old spider was bowled over as we scrambled to land our bowls closest to him.
June and Merilyn blitzed the field and bagged the prizes!
Start of play had us all befuddled as we had to deliver our first three bowls with our non-favoured hand.
Maree has offered to coach this skill next week, and some ladies have decided to change hands permanently!
Winners on the day were Frances Charlton and Jan McPhee in those breath-taking fishnet stockings!
Had us all green with envy!

The buzz went around that Dev's Kitchen was catering for lunch, so several more non-playing members joined us for a delicious repast.
We were all winners on the day - raffles, lucky doors, best-dressed, consolation.
Our club is blessed with many fine cooks.
Thanks must go to Joan, Hilda and Frances for donations of baked goods!

WHAT'S ON
Looking ahead, next Tuesday, November 3, will see Lorraine Baker and Jan McPhee go head-to-head to decide the Minor Singles Champion for 2020.
Nominations for Minor Pairs will close at noon next Tuesday.
We are also going to celebrate a special milestone birthday of Helen Heraghty.
Come along and enjoy some great bowling and share some cake with Helen.
FUTURE EVENTS
Thursday night twilight bowls: From 6.30pm. Make up a team of three and have bags of fun!
Sunday, November 15: Huge carnival of bowls to celebrate 100 years! All invited to participate - 100 shirts to give out to 100 bowlers! From 9.15am onwards.
Tuesday, November 10: Committee meeting.
Social bowls: To play social bowls next Tuesday, ring the club, 6862 1446, between 8.30am and 9am. Play at 9.30am.

FRIDAY NIGHT
Come along to the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club this Friday night for the monthly Mega Meat Raffle and savour some of Dev's cooking for yourself! Member's draw as well!
