The brigade received $49,016 in funding from the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), with construction beginning in 2019 and finishing in 2020.
The brigade has two appliances and both were previously housed in farmers sheds.
A single bay station was built several years ago at the other end of the brigade's boundary and now with the completion of this station, both brigade's trucks are housed in RFS stations.
The new premises houses Mickibri 1A and is on Ian Westcott's property under lease with Parkes Shire Council.
The brigade has had a long history of service to the community spanning over 80 years, with families on the land banding together as part of the Mickbri Brigade to protect their neighbours and their properties.
Over this time, the brigade has responded to many fires in their district and currently has 21 members.
Those receiving Long Service Medals were:
Mitchell Westcott - 10 years of service.
Nicholas Westcott - 12 years.
Mathew Platt - 18 years.
Heather Green -19 years.
Shane Green - 27 years.
Bryce Farlow - 34 years.
Glen Morgan - 40 years.
Gregory Bell - 41 years: Greg joined the Mickibri Brigade in 1979. He has held the positions of senior deputy captain in 2004 until 2013, which he was then elected captain, president and training officer which he still holds to this day. Greg also held the position of secretary from 2010 until 2013.
Gregory Diener - 41 years.
Ian Westcott - 42 years: Ian joined the Alectown and Mickibri Rural Fire brigades in 1978. Since joining the Mickibri team, Ian has held the positions of secretary from 2004 to 2009, treasurer from 2004 until 2013, deputy captain from 2007 until 2009 and captain from 2009 until 2013. In 2016 Ian was elected as deputy group captain for the Parkes District, which he still holds to this day.
Raymond Platt - 44 years: Ray joined the Alectown Brigade in 1976 then the Mickibri Brigade in 2001 and has been an active and valued member of both brigades over this time.
James Jelbart - 47 years: James joined the RFS in 1973 with the Mickibri Brigade. Since joining, he has held the position of captain in 1999 until 2003.
Ian Frecklington - 48 years: Ian joined the Bruie Plains and Mickibri Rural Fire brigades in 1972. Since joining the Mickibri Brigade, Ian has held the positions of secretary from 1988 until 1992 and captain from 1992 until 2000.
Des McIntyre - 56 years: Des joined the Mickibri Brigade in 1954. During his time with the RFS, Des has been a dedicated member, always putting the needs of the brigade and community first.
Wayne Rosser - 56 years: Wayne joined the RFS in 1964. Throughout this time Wayne has proven himself to be an active and respected member of the Mickibri Brigade.
Peter Green - 58 years: Peter joined the Gunningbland Brigade in 1962 and the Mickibri Brigade in 1973. Peter held the position of captain from 1980 to 1991.
Neville Woods - 58 years: Neville joined the RFS in 1962 with the Mickibri Brigade and was elected Deputy Captain from 2005 until 2007.
