In Yellow Div 1 Faith Clarke and Lachlan Unger finished first and second on a count back with Hayden Arndell a close third. Faith and Lachlan played the final and although neither player looked comfortable on court it was Faith who took the opening set 4/2. The rallies were long and arduous with much of the play down the middle corridor but Lachlan was more patient in the second set winning 4/0. The super tiebreak was hard fought with neither player giving in and chasing every ball down. Lachlan was the eventual winner 10/8.
The matches in the playoffs saw Hayden Arndell score a hard fought 4/3, 4/2 win over Tia Dunn while Ella McColl scored a 4/0, 3/4, 10/7 win over the big improver in Division 1, Kelly Kim.
Division 2 was a real battle with Charlie Seymour, Sam Rivett, Mitchell Wirth and Ruby Wilson all finishing in a tie for 1st place. Charlie and Sam were deemed 1st and 2nd on a count back and played a cracker of a match in the final with Charlie winning in two tight tiebreakers.
Mitch Wirth defeated Ruby Wilson 4/2, 4/2 to secure 3rd place while Poppy Fisher was too consistent for Harry Yelland to take out 5th. Henry Rice rose to the occasion and finished his term of tennis on a high with a close 1/4, 4/1, 10/5 win over Phoebe Forbes to finish in 7th place.
Nate Harrison defeated Liliani Latu in the final of division 3 with Riley Jones in 3rd place.
In Green division 1 William Watson and Bodhi Ashcroft were the standouts and played an even final. It went game for game and when the whistle blew it was William who was a single game ahead 7/6 to take the title. Declan Quade finished 3rd with a close 7/6 win over Ashley Terry.
Green Division 2 players had a larger draw so played the last round of their matches with the winner being Charlotte Wilson. Cooper Jones was second with Elena Glastonbury and Anna Orr just one point behind in 3rd and 4th respectively.
Daisy Rice had a beautiful term of tennis and is really enjoying her learning with coach Mitch. Daisy was undefeated in all of her matches and will be heading into the full court green division next term. Well Done Daisy.
Anna Davis was also a big improver in the Orange division and loved her special time with coach Hannah each week. Anna was all smiles when she secured the runner-up place.
PARKES UTR
A great day of match play with Parkes hosting the Central West UTR event on Sunday. 31 players enjoyed plenty of tennis across the 18 and under and 10 and under divisions.
Parkes players who went through the day winning all 3 matches played included Hayden Arndell, Tia Dunn and Rory Fisher.
