It's been an emotional ride for its 25 staff, some of whom have been with the company for 25 years and others since the Parkes store opened in Bogan Street on November 16, 2006.
The Parkes store was originally touted to stay open when Wesfarmers announced what locations it was changing or closing as part of a company transformation in May.
But the Parkes Chamber of Commerce received correspondence from Managing Director of Target Australia, Marina Joanou a month later to say Parkes Target will be closing.
Shoppers have watched the shelves and its contents, and clothes racks gradually diminish over the last two months, with very little left occupying the floor.
Store manager Kristy Harvey said it's a sad time but she is immensely proud of her team and all that they have achieved over the years in Parkes.
"Saturday will be a very sad day for us as we are more like a family than work colleagues," she said.
"I have worked with the company for 16 years and have three team members who have worked for the company for 25 years.
"We will all keep in contact and I'm very excited to see what the future brings for all of my team members.
"Some of us already gained employment, some of us are returning to study and some of us are taking a well-deserved break."
Ms Harvey said Target has been very supportive since the announcement of their store closure.
"Target has been amazing to myself and my team with so much support and genuine care," she said.
"Target has been an amazing place to work and I will greatly miss the wonderful work colleagues and customers I have met on my journey with Target."
The new Target in Parkes officially opened its doors on November 16, 2006, occupying the former Kmart building.
It was first managed by Forbes woman Cheryl Anderson and employed more than 80 people in permanent and casual positions.
The last staff to be employed at Parkes Target are Kristy Harvey, Tony Ecclestone, Kristy Bulman, Alex Giles, Dennis Dunn, Sue South, Kerry Dunn, Tracey Ganzerla, Kearin Trout, Skye van Opynen, Christine O'Neill, Gracie Jones, Hannah Allen, Hannah Mcgregor, Gemma Francis, Josh Winter, Carolyn Griffith, Jessica Cole, Emma Evans, Emma Peters, Brooke Parker, Maddie Purcell, Daniel Applebee, Amy Coleman and Chris Rathbone.
