The new online hub provides a simple and secure way for the community to connect and collaborate with council. It aims to drive inclusive, transparent, and measurable community engagement.
"Community input is integral to council's planning process, to ensure that our decision-making meets the community's needs," Parkes Shire Mayor Ken Keith OAM said.
"Your Say Parkes is a dedicated space for our community to learn, engage and provide honest feedback on various projects, initiatives and developments.
"While we will continue to use traditional forms of engagement like workshops and face-to-face meetings, our new online hub makes it easier and more accessible for our whole community to get involved and have their say."
The hub uses a variety of tools including surveys, forums, ideas boards, interactive mapping, quick polls and more.
Contributions made via the Your Say Parkes hub will be gathered and used by council to make informed decisions.
Currently, council is encouraging locals to help prioritise the community projects to be put forward for government funding under two allocations: the Australian Government's Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI Program) for $1.3 million and the NSW Government Resources for Regions (R4R) Fund for $1.67 million.
Locals can also register their details to be notified of upcoming opportunities to provide feedback on proposed projects and initiatives.
