Having settled into their new temporary home at 2/250 Clarinda Street, Parkes Shire Library staff are now busy preparing for the upcoming October school holidays, with a fun-filled program for primary school kids.

Kerryn Jones, Manager Cultural, Education and Library Services said if you are looking for ideas for entertainment for the kids these school holidays, the Parkes Library has an exciting range of high quality and affordable activities.
"There is something for every interest from cartooning through to acrobatic family shows, and a wide range of activities for kids from Kindergarten through to Year 12," Kerryn said.
The holiday activities are designed to offer kids and families a range of options over the holidays to get involved and be active, and include:
Feed the Birds - keep the birds happy and make a bird feeder to take home! Learn all about different types of bird beaks. (Kindergarten to Year 2)
Cartooning Workshop - Join the team from Toonworld on a journey filled with creativity and drawing challenges where you will design your own cartoon heroes (Kindergarten to Year 6)
Fanciful Flower Crowns - Spring has sprung! Join local florist Alice in this hands-on workshop designing and making your own fresh flower crown (Years 7-12)
Action Reaction Family Shows - An acrobatic show for families with a Superhero Training Component (for children aged 4 and over)
Film and Fighting Workshop - see a demonstration and participate in film and stage fighting techniques with the team from Action Reaction (Years 6 - 12)
YOU Can be an Author! - Write crazy stories in a new and creative way using word games and activities (Years 3 - 6)
There are limited places and bookings are essential.
Bookings can be made in person at the Parkes Shire Library at 2/250 Clarinda Street Parkes.
Cost is $2 payable at the time of booking.
You must be a library member to book in, but it's FREE to join!
