A crime scene has been established following a fatal shooting in Porter Street, Parkes this afternoon.
Just before 5pm (Monday 24 June 2019), emergency services were called to Porter Street after receiving information a man had been shot.
The man was taken to Parkes Hospital in a critical condition and died.
Another man, aged 18, was arrested at the scene and taken to Parkes Police Station.
He is currently assisting police with inquiries.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently underway.

Parkes emergency services have been called to a serious incident in Porter Street, Parkes this evening.
Police, detectives and paramedics are currently attending the scene.
A section of Porter Street has been cordoned off with police tape while the incident is being investigated.
It is understood the incident occurred after 5pm today, Monday, June 24.
