Parkes Shire Council, in partnership with CMOC Northparkes Mines, will host the nibbles, networking and panel discussion as a belated International Women's Day celebration.
"Balance means something different to everyone. International Women's Day is an opportunity to share your definition and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women," Parkes Shire Deputy Mayor, Councillor Barbara Newton said.
"We have so many inspiring women in the Parkes Shire, and I am delighted to hear the stories of our three local panellists, all of whom are breaking down stereotypes and are making a concerted effort through tangible action to forge a more gender-balanced world."
The guest speakers include Leanne Heywood who was named 2019 NSW Business Woman of the Year, Roslyn Dalton from CMOC-Northparkes Mines, and CSIRO Astrophysicist Dr Jane Kaczmarek.
The evening will begin at 6pm with nibbles and networking, with Cr Newton to compère the panel discussion from 6.30pm.
International Women's Day was first held in 1911 and is now celebrated globally on March 8.
Tickets for the Balance For Better evening are $10 and can be purchased via www.parkes.nsw.gov.au
