Police arrested a 39-year-old Parkes man last Tuesday in a joint operation between Central West Police District and Western Region Officers after he allegedly assaulted a 35-year-old Parkes woman about 6:25pm on the evening of Sunday, January 13.

He was charged with nine offences including:
- two counts of contravene prohibition/restriction in a court order;
- three counts of common assault; destroy or damage property;
- stalk, intimidate, intend fear of physical or mental harm;
- steal property in dwelling-house;
- and aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence.
The man was refused police bail and appeared in Parkes Local Court where he was further refused bail.
He appeared in Parkes Local Court via audio video link from Wellington Correctional Centre on Monday, January 21.

Police are investigating six separate fires that were deliberately lit late on Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday.
Parkes Police, Fire and Rescue NSW and Rural Fire Service were called to grass fires in PAC Park, East Street and Hartigan Avenue, and skip and bin fires in Jansen and McGees lanes.
In one of the bin fires the fascia and gutter caught alight on the adjacent building.
Fire and Rescue NSW crew members quickly extinguished the blaze and prevented further damage to the building.
Witnesses reported seeing a person on a bicycle in McGees Lane around the time of the lane fires.

Police are viewing CCTV footage in an attempt to identify a woman who stole from a local supermarket on Thursday.
The woman, who has brown hair, entered the store around 3pm and left without paying for $30 worth of meat.
