The unit’s Registered Nurse Karen Wright said they have been fortunate enough to receive the artwork thanks to Parkes Can Assist.
And it’s there for the enjoyment of patients while they undergo their treatments.
Can Assist offer financial support for cancer patients undergoing treatments.
The Parkes branch also prepare tea, coffee and sandwiches for patients during their treatment.
The painting, called ‘Murray River near Renmark, was created by Karen Ritchie, and has been used to beautify the treatment room, and provide the patients with a distraction while they undergo their treatment.
“It will also create a talking point,” Karen said.
She also said the painting, erected just a few weeks ago, is there indefinitely.
Arts Outwest is responsible for the artworks placed all around the Parkes Hospital.
The Parkes oncology unit is very thankful for the donation from Can Assist and their unwavering support.
