Each of the loaders complete with bucket weighs in at 40 tonnes – with payload all up 54 tonnes.
They arrived by rail and were unloaded at Goobang Rail Siding. They were delivered to Northparkes Mines safely with the help of local company, White’s Transport.
The loaders will be used while the current loaders onsite undergo maintenance and rebuilds.
This means production doesn’t need to decrease and will immediately contribute to an increase in loader availability.
They will be introduced into the underground production fleet over the coming months.
All three of the new loaders are fully autonomous and travel at speeds of up to 20kph.
Each loader has a 425 meter electric cable which is self-retrieving in reverse.
This project has been enthusiastically supported by site departments including Procurement, Business Analysts, Logistics, UG Mining, Asset Management and Sandvik.
