Bowling Club captain Matt Swindle batted splendidly to inspire his team to victory over Services in a game of fluctuating fortunes.

Swindle scored 52 runs (4 fours and 2 sixes) and was joined by Shaun Bateson to add a valuable 59 runs for the last wicket to boost Bowling Club’s total from 9-83 to 142 all out.
Swindle’s excellent innings was only closed after Services’ Ian Ward took a brilliant catch to dismiss the destructive batsman.
Tyson Spence put in a good performance with the ball, claiming four Bowling Club scalps.
He was backed up by Corey Rowbotham and Brad Parker who claimed three and two wickets respectively.
Hugh Mackenzie led the Services run chase with 25 valuable runs, ably assisted by Blake Monks with 24.
In a good team bowling performance, Alec Bateson and Michael McGrath claimed two wickets each to lead their side to a 34 run victory.

Bowling Club 142 in 29 overs (Matt Swindle 52, Shaun Bateson 23, Jacob Townsend 17; Tyson Spence 4-34 off 6 overs, Corey Rowbotham 3-19 off 5 overs, Brad Parker 2-23 off 6 overs)
defeated Services 8-108 off 30 overs (Hugh Mackenzie 25, Blake Monks 24, Ian Ward 13no; Alec Bateson 2-6 off 3 overs, Michael McGrath 2-29 off 6 overs, Shaun Bateson 1-6 off 6 overs).
Bowling Club won by 34 runs to earn four competition points while Services earned one.
Both teams are congratulated for playing the game in fantastic spirit.
