Jeffery Wayne Kempshall (53) of Wentworth Street, Parkes has plead guilty to a charge of common assault and a charge of contravening a prohibition/restriction in AVO.

According to facts tendered to the Parkes Local Court on October 17, on the afternoon of Monday, July 5, the victim and Kempshall were consuming alcohol and became involved in a verbal argument.
The facts state that the victim hit Kempshall in the head with a phone before he struck the victim in the head.
The victim left before returning a short time later and arguing between the two continued.
Police say a short time later the victim called Triple 0 and requested police but Kempshall took the phone and advised the operator that things were under control, ending the phone call.
Police attended the scene a short time later and spoke to both Kempshall and the victim. Kempshall was seen with a drop of blood on his nose which he stated came from him falling over.
Police spoke with a witness who provided a statement before again speaking to the victim who confirmed the statement and provided the above version of events.
Kempshall's solicitor Mr Martin said his client did understand the seriousness of the charges.
Kempshall was placed on a Community Corrections Order for 14 months with rehabilitation a condition of the order.
