Bob was a well-known player and supporter of the Parkes Golf Club and we are grateful to the Smith family for keeping his memory alive via the annual day.
The course turned out a treat by the greens crew of Logan and Chenes, who are gaining a reputation they'll find hard to live up to shortly as they move into transition to the new course makeup.
101 players flailed the little white ball across Saturday's play.
Whilst the wind gusted to 40+ km/h it presented some easy opportunities for birdies on the north to south holes, but once again there were only six A-graders capable of shooting in the 70's.
Alec Edwards was the best on the day over the 18 holes with a solid 39 points beating home four players on 38: Michael Dellaca, Todd Jayet, Warwick Wright and Bruce Symonds.
Good to see Todd back on the fairways and in some form with his big hitting going to prominent over the summer months.

Warwick Wright recorded a 77 off the stick which was a week too late as he missed the final round of the championships, where he was co-lead in the nett event leading into the last round which he couldn't play.
Michael Dellaca keeps trimming the handicap and is in ripe form currently.
In the 9 hole event, Victor Gaidzionis reigned supreme and in the Ladies event Dale Matthews maintained her championship form to take out the event.
