The course was still recovering from the 50mls of rain earlier in the week, but the wind was non-existent early and the there was a cloudless sky above, so scoring was expected to go low.
There were 102 starters ready to test their skills.
Jack was able to control his long hitting and combined that with some good skills around the greens.
Robert Hey hadn't been playing anywhere near his ability in the first rounds, but bounced back with this solid round and Luke Clarke had a dismal day in round 2 but found his way back in round 3.
In the A-grade nett, Warwick Wright showed he is serious in his pursuit of the nett award with another 70 to match his round 2 score.
He just tipped out Luke Clarke on a 71 to take Saturday's award.
So after round 3, Jack still has a handy lead in the scratch event from a tightly compacted following pack.
His 227 leads John Green and Warwick Wright back on 241.
There is a logjam of players in the low 240's looking for a low score in the final round next week.
