The ladies club championships commenced on Wednesday in trying conditions as the course had taken a good soaking on the two previous days and was playing very long with a lot of casual water and very muddy patches about.

In A-grade, Kathy Jeffress got off to a flyer and posted a solid 94 in the scratch event to lead Anita Medcalf by one stroke.
This is Kathy's first championships at the Parkes Golf Club and she is enjoying the challenge.
Dale Matthews, who has spent a bit of time away from golf this year, is tucked away in third spot on 98.
In the B-grade, Kaye Inglis hit a 103 to beat home Lyn Davison by 2 strokes.
Kaye also got the nett award for the day with a fine 78 against Lyn's 82.
On Saturday, Anita Medcalf showed her usual tenacity to rake in the leader and post 94 in the A-grade.
Dale Matthews was again in the mix with a solid 95, with Kathy Jeffress back on 100.
The nett event saw Dale Matthews get the chocolates with a neat 75, beating home Kath Jeffress, Cathy Kelly and Anita Medcalf - who were all on 79.

In the B-grade scratch, Lyn Davison confirmed she will be a threat by posting the winning total of 101, leading in Helen Clark on 102.
Kaye Inglis was thereabouts with a score of 104.
In the nett event, Lyn had a 76 and Helen and Kaye both had 79's.
In the C-grade, Sue Holman fired in a 106 score to head off Judy Fisher who had a 112.
The nett scores reversed, with Judy having a 74 and Sue a 75.
So after the first two rounds in A-grade, the scratch is being led by Anita Medcalf on 189, followed by Dale Matthews on 193 and Kathy Jeffress on 194.
In the nett event, Kathy Jeffress on 152 leads Dale Matthews on 156 and Anita Medcalf on 159.
In B-grade it's tight in the scratch competition, with Lyn Davison leading on 206, followed closely by Kaye Inglis on 207 and Helen Clark on 208.
The nett competition has Kaye Inglis ahead on 157 - one in front of Lyn Davison.
The club championships for the Ladies will continue on Wednesday, with the final round on Saturday.
