Along with Nicayden, Kira-Lyn Edwards-Barry from Narromine also received the scholarship, which is part of Northparkes' commitment with their Wiradjuri Executive Committee.
Nicayden, who was also the captain at Parkes High School in additional to the honour on Australia Day, has been accepted into Bond University on the Gold Coast to study a Bachelor of Design in Architecture.
Kira-Lyn has moved to Lismore to study a Bachelor of Teaching and was heavily involved in NAIDOC activities.
Both Nicayden and Kira-Lyn will receive $5,000 per year of their degree as part of their non-technical scholarship, but that's just the beginning.
They have also been given a laptop to assist them with their tertiary studies, but potentially the most important part will be the work placements on site at Northparkes, and throughout Australia.

Nicayden was particularly excited about this point, as it will ensure there are practical outcomes from the degree.
"I feel honoured to be awarded this scholarship from Northparkes, and I'm especially excited for work placement because it will put me a step in-front of everyone else studying the same degree and I will also be lucky enough to be paid along the way, " Nicayden said.
These scholarships are a result of the signed relationship agreement with Northparkes' Wiradjuri Executive Committee (WEC), which aims to build sustainable Indigenous communities.
The WEC meets quarterly to identify opportunities and develop projects which support Wiradjuri people in the region.
Northparkes managing director, Hubert Lehman, said the scholarship program is vital to Northparkes, both to help Indigenous people further their studies and also to continue developing the Northparkes employee pipeline.
"Congratulations Nicayden and Kira-Lyn - we are proud to welcome you both to our employee pipeline and we wish you all the best in your studies," he said.
"We will see you onsite soon to get to know you even better!"
