Northparkes Oval parkrun
Last Saturday February 27, 67 people ran, jogged and walked the Northparkes Oval parkrun course, of whom 23 were first timers and 21 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 3 different clubs took part.
The event was made possible by nine volunteers: Alice Drabsch, Sonia Bland, Amie McGrath, Michael Cooper, Dan Greef, Ronel Van Wyk, Peter Heath, Hamish McGrath and Peter Guppy.
The male record is held by Keith Macpherson who recorded a time of 16:46 on February 13.
The female record is held by Jorja Davis who recorded a time of 22:39 on February 27.
The Age Grade course record is held by Keith Macpherson who recorded 77.04% (16:46) on February 13.
Northparkes Oval parkrun started on February 6. Since then 129 participants have completed 222 parkruns covering a total distance of 1,110 km - including 44 new Personal Bests. Parkes SSAA Smallbore
Last weekend saw 14 shooters attend the Deep Lead Shooting Complex and shoot at fox targets at both 25 and 50 metres for a collective score of 530.53 points

Ron Cunningham 280.28 - 250.20 - 530.48; John Smeaton 280.23 - 249.17 - 529.40 and three shot for practice only to make up their required shoots before the March 31 deadline.
Our next shoot is at 10am this Sunday, March 7, and will be ordinary targets at both ranges.

We will contest Rounds 1 and 2 and have supper being catered for us by Parkes Services Club at the completion of play, so a great chance to catch up, have a drink and sledge the days results!

Well it doesn't stop with our bowls - it's all happening!
Last Friday night Paul Kirwan and Aaron Thorne did battle in the Major singles.
This game was fit for a final with two new bowlers coming up to the stage. Aaron led 19/15, but Paul wasn't done with, coming back to win 32/24 in front of a large crowd including his grandmother Anne Currey. Good to see you at the club Annie!
We had 18 starters for three games of triples.
Winners: Kevin Hynds, Allan Affleck and Stan Smith W 17+21.
Runners up: Geoff Leonard, Allan Curteis and Mick Furney W 15+19.
We had 18 starters for 3 games of triples.
Winners: John Corcoran, Jake Brown & Bobby Freeman W 14+11.
Runners up: Kevin Hynds, Gene Rapp and Clive Stibbard W 14+5.
Margins were 3, 5, 11 and number 1 came out so next weeks jackpot will $84.
There won't be any social bowls played this Saturday as the Zone 4Trail will be had on our green. We tried to get the top green in but it is still a few weeks away.
The only team going thru will be the 7/1's.
5's are at home to Molong, 6's go to Orange Country Club, 7/1's are at home to Condobolin and the 7/2's are away to Molong.
