The fund aims to deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes, while promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.
The Parkes Shire projects include:
- Installation of a new kitchen at Adavale Lane Community Hall $20,019
- New digital technology for Parkes Shire Food Service - $10,000
- Construction of an accessible entryway at Parkes PCYC - $20,000
- Repainting of St George Anglican Church Hall in Parkes - $16,045
- Air-conditioning for Trundle War Memorial Hall - $10,000
- A new lawn mower for the Tullamore PA&H Association - $7,856
Parkes Shire Mayor, Cr Ken Keith OAM thanked the NSW Government for investing in these community projects: "These projects are all about our community coming together and participating in positive activities- and during this time of uncertainty and social distancing, they give us something to look forward to."
Eighteen projects within the Orange electorate, including those within the Parkes Shire, were successful under the latest round of funding.
Member for Orange, Phil Donato MP says: "I am pleased to have supported the grant applications for these worthy projects in the Parkes Shire. Congratulations to those successful organisations, this funding will assist in them maintaining, nourishing and growing their capacity for community interaction."
