At 12.50am on Saturday, officers from the Central West Police District stopped a Holden Astra on Callaghan Street in Parkes after the vehicle was seen making a u-turn and driving away from the police car.
Officers spoke with the driver, a 34-year-old man, who admitted he had been visiting friends.
He was issued a penalty infringement notice (PIN) for failing to comply with ministerial directions and being unable to provide police with a 'reasonable excuse' for being outside his home.
Also on the long weekend, six PINs were issued to people in the Orana region for breaking the Public Health Act legislation, with another issued to a man in Lithgow.
