At midday on Tuesday, police officers were notified that a heavy vehicle travelling south on the Newell Highway at Parkes had lost a wheel set.
Police from Central West Police District and highway patrol responded and found the truck in Forbes.

"The driver was spoken to and stated he was not aware he had lost the wheel set," officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command said.
"The trailer was given a red label defect and was issued an infringement for use dangerously defective vehicle."
The fine for this offence is $674.
