We would love to see enough new people join the committee to set up a fortnightly or monthly maintenance roster with simple jobs like fixing net straps, fences and gates, spraying weeds, rubbish pickups, emptying bins, sweeping leaves etc.
If there is an interest in being involved but not in manual labour then maybe you have an amazing skill set in another area such as grant writing, running competitions, operating a canteen, social media, publicity officer, attending the Sports Council meetings, President, Secretary or Treasurer- all of which are open to anyone keen to take the Club forward.
Hoping we see plenty of people at the AGM tonight.
COVID-19 AND TENNIS EVENTS
With the current COVID-19 crisis growing we want to ensure all of our tennis community we are mindful of the changing situation daily. Your health and safety is our priority.
All Tennis Australia and TennisNSW affiliated events and tournaments have been cancelled indefinitely including the Central West JDS Events.
All local competitions and coaching programs will continue and any changes to these will be updated on the PARKES TENNIS Facebook page. We will be following the recommendations from Tennis Australia and enforcing the following precautions including- No hand to hand contact(holding hands, high fives, handshakes, knuckles etc) where possible.
All paid and unpaid staff will be required to stay home if they present any symptoms and we ask that our tennis community play your part as follows:
- Ensure you and/or your child has their own drink bottle
- Exercise good judgement by keeping them away if they are unwell for any reason
- Parents/players to stay away if feeling any symptoms also
- Ensure you and your child is washing their hands frequently with soap and/or sanitiser
- Cover coughs and sneezes by using the inside of your elbow(not hands) dispose of tissues and use hand sanitizer, avoid contact with others(touching, kissing, hugging)
- Talk to your child about the situation. You have a key role in helping students feel prepared and safe
