A MAN has died following a single-vehicle crash in the Central West.

About 3pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to a paddock off Canowindra Road at Canowindra, following reports a Toyota Hilux utility left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was taken to Orange Hospital, where he died.

While he is yet to be formally identified, the driver is believed to be a 28-year-old man.
Officers from Chifley Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
