Firefighters were initially called to the scene just before 2pm on Monday, and then again at 7.36am on Tuesday following reports of a re-ignition.
Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW brigade said crews worked on extinguishing hot spots in the area on Tuesday morning.
"In these current conditions it is very important that any unattended fire be reported immediately by calling triple-0," firefighters urged.
"With the current strong wind and high temperatures it doesn't take much for a small smouldering fire to grow to a large bush or grass fire in a matter of minutes."
There is a very high fire danger in the Parkes council area on Tuesday.

A LARGE and quick-moving grass fire has been brought under control following an emergency call out in Parkes.
Firefighters received a triple-0 call to reports of grass alight at Bushmans Hill at 1.53pm on Monday.
"On arrival crews were faced with a large running grass fire," Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters said.

"Crews quickly got to work to create containment lines to protect the houses along Hazelbank Avenue."
Two NSW Rural Fire Service brigades, Parkes Headquarters and Parkes West, also attended the fire.

Meanwhile, there is a very high fire danger in Parkes and Forbes on Tuesday.
