Field Rifles

- John Smeaton 266, 224, 490
On shot for practice only. This match was shot under near perfect weather conditions with almost no wind. Our next shoot is at 10am Sunday, December 15 and will be ordinary targets at both ranges.
Unlike centrefire rifles where you can control your groups by reading your own ammo with a rimfire, you are at the mercy of the ammo companies and this was evident last weekend.
One round made a popping sound rather than a bang, dropping that low at 25 meters that it almost missed the crow.
Well that is my excuse anyway. Usually the more you pay for them the better the quality control by the manufacture.
