With players enjoying ideal golfing conditions it was Brad Scott who upstaged his more fancied rivals when he recorded a superb three over Par round of 74 to snare a narrow one-shot lead in the 72 hole Club Championships.
Scott - who trailed the halfway leaders Myles Smith, Ken Cobcroft and reigning titleholder Mitch McGlashan by two shots - now holds onto a narrow one shot lead after rounds totalling 231.
Ken Cobcroft is well positioned just one off the pace, while McGlashan is a further shot back on 233 with Smith and Robert Hey a further shot away on 234 and the winner is expected to come from this grouping.
In B grade for players on handicaps of 13 to 18 sees Rod Kiley setting a blistering pace as he holds a commanding 13 shot lead as he returned an impressive 82 off the stick and this added to his halfway total sees him sitting on 250.
The battle for the minor placings sees Wayne "Pup" Parker currently on 263 two shots clear of David Brown with Peter Bristol next on 266 and Peter Boschman in fifth position on 271.
The C grade for players on handicaps of 19 and above is another tight and torrid affair as halfway leaders Ross Smith and Gordon Christie continue to share the lead after both shot identical rounds of 93 to give them totals of 279 for the 54 holes.
Close on the heels of the leading pair is Brent Timmins who fired an impressive 90 off the stick to move within two shots of the lead.
Robert Lea is close by on 283 and junior golfer is still within striking distance on 284.
The overall handicap Championship for the A. G. Rowley sees Rod Kiley well clear on 205 nett with his closest rival Lachlan Buesnell some eight shots back on 213 some two shots ahead of Myles Smith who is a further shot in front of Ken Cobcroft.

Rod Kiley reigned in B grade with his 68 nett while Victor Gaidzionis fired the round of the day with a brilliant 88 off the stick for a 63 nett.
