Mudgee Wombats win round three clash against Parkes

Mudgee first grade half-back James Ford says their 50-0 win over the Parkes Boars had a lot to do with everyone coming together rather than a case of luck.

"I wouldn't say it's third time lucky, we've been playing some good footy but haven't really been able to put things to hand but the boys played really well," Ford said.

David Smith scored the first try of the match within the first minute followed by a Ford conversion.

Josh McLean, Scott Hedrick, Alex Saint, Brian O'Reilly, James Ford, Jackson Hobson all scored tries throughout the match with Smith scoring the final fiver.

"What we did today is what we need to do for every game," Ford said.

Despite heading in with an undesirable amount of players, Parkes went into the match looking for that victory that never came so instead focused on enjoying the game.

"We played a great game of rugby, we knew what the day was going to be like so we had a bit of fun out there," Parkes' Sam Davies spoke of the match.

"We came with 15 players and you could see injuries straight up that left us with 13," Davis said.

"Full credit to the Parkes boys, it's hard when you've only got 26 players registered for two teams," Ford said.

"It was good to see them come over and give it a red hot crack."
