POLICE are investigating after 44 sheep were killed at two properties in the Central West.

On Monday, August 13, the owner of a property on Nangar Road, Eugowra, about 40 kilometres east of Forbes, reported two rams had been found dead in a paddock.
Then, on Saturday, August 18, the owner of a property on Nobles Road, Eugowra, reported 42 sheep had been found dead and six injured in a paddock.

Officers from the Central West Police District and Cabonne Shire Council attended both incidents and have commenced inquiries.
The sheep had suffered significant injuries and police believe they may have been attacked by another animal.
