The rugby league match was played in support of White Ribbon’s message that domestic violence is not okay.
Forbes High ran out inaugural victors following a 30-18 win.
Forbes High School’s White Ribbon Ambassador Barry Merritt said the event was not about the game, but about the cause.
Mr Merritt said the day was amazing and for both sides to come together in this way sent a strong message about domestic violence, which was a massive step forward.
White Ribbon Day 2017 is on Saturday, November 25, but the two schools came together to mark the day on Wednesday.
Parkes High School will be hosting next year’s event.
Parkes High School teacher Joe Spicer, who accompanied the Parkes team to Forbes for the day, had high praise for the event.
“The day went extremely well, the weather was perfect which was great for the crowd and even though footy season has been over for some time, the standard of play was good,” he said.
“While the boys were obviously keen to play well, they have been really focused on supporting the message and becoming ambassadors in our school and community to eliminate domestic violence.”
He also praised the efforts of Forbes High.
“Forbes did a brilliant job of hosting the day and we really look forward to returning the favour in 2018,” Spicer said.
While Parkes was unable to hold a White Ribbon Day march this year – the Parkes Domestic and Family Violence committee organised a cake stall to fundraise for the cause. More details to come.
