Police stopped the driver of a Holden Commodore in East Street at 1pm for roadside alcohol and drug tests.
The woman returned a negative breath test result, however tested positive for drugs.
She was taken to Parkes Police Station for further analysis which returned a positive reading for methylamphetamine.
Police will await the results of further analysis before any action is taken.

A 17-year-old Parkes male will face Parkes Local Court next month on a mid range PCA charge after failing a roadside breath test on Sunday.
Police stopped a Holden Commodore on the Condobolin Road at 2.30am and breath tested the driver who returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station for a breath analysis which returned a mid-range reading.
His licence was suspended.

Unknown offenders kicked in the rear wooden door of a commercial premises in Welcome Street at 1am on Monday.
Nothing appears to be stolen and investigations are continuing.

Police are viewing CCTV footage in an attempt to identify offenders who threw bricks through windows of the Parkes Services Club just after midnight on Monday morning.
The damage is valued at $1500.
