Contemporary artist Gavin is a journalist in a country town, but that's just half of what he gets up to.
Gavin has always integrated some form of creativity into his life, having spent his early years drawing tractors, harvesters and windmills that dotted the landscape of the farm where he spent the first half of his childhood.
"The Australian landscape is also something that has incredible power over my creative work, as is the case with any artist who has the utmost privilege of living in this beautiful country!" said Gavin.
Gavin's quirky and surreal paintings go on exhibition at Parkes Library on Wednesday 1 March, with an official opening being held on Friday 3 March.
Manager Cultural, Education & Library Services Shellie Buckle is looking forward to hanging the exhibition.
"Parkes Library is a space where we hope to inspire and encourage our community. Hosting exhibitions from artists, local and regional, provides the community access to art that they would have to leave the Shire to view, and it also provides artists the opportunity to exhibit their work," said Shellie.
Please RSVP on 6861 2309 if you would like to attend the official opening at 6pm on March 3. Gavin will be in attendance to have a beer and talk art.
The exhibition will continue until Friday, March 24, 2017.
