More than 90 items painted by the members will be on display.
The official opening will take place by Champion Post Managing Editor, Roel ten Cate at 7pm on Friday. All are welcome to attend.
The exhibition will then be open on Saturday until Thursday, May 5, from 10am to 4pm each day.
Guest artist is former local resident, Mary McEnallay, now a highly regarded artist on the central coast.
Mary is particularly known for her pencil works.
Some of the Painting Group members have been together for about 20 years, starting out at TAFE.
When the course at TAFE ceased, the members met at the CWA Rooms in Currajong Street.
When these were demolished, the group presented a petition to council, who immediately brought them under the shire’s cultural umbrella.
Now the group meets at Northparkes Oval club rooms each Wednesday morning.
There are some 25 members who really enjoy their weekly outing and opportunity to further their artistic talents.
Items at the exhibition will be available for sale, with proceeds being donated to the Friends of the Hospital Auxiliary.
Included in the exhibition items will be a cake decorated by local many times national award winner and champion, Kath Swansbra, and pottery works by local potters.
Patrons will get a chance to vote for their favourite painting, and a raffle will also be in place with some outstanding prizes.
Residents are encouraged to get along to the exhibition and lend their support to a local group who are always happy to welcome newcomers.
