In an emotional final show on June 9 Mr Koch was joined by former co-hosts and family members to reminisce on two decades on breakfast TV.
"It has been such an adventure from 21 years ago from when we had a little idea for a show," Mr Koch said.
"You gave us a chance our viewers, you got us, you got our sense of humour, you got what we stood for.
"All I can say is thank you. Thank you for having me in your lounge room, kitchen, for 21 years, I know you get annoyed with me at times."
Co-host Natalie Barr said he had set an "incredible legacy" for the future of the show.
"He's one of the best friends I will ever have in my life and I will treasure the years we had together on air," she said.

Koch calls time on Sunrise
On May 29 Mr Koch announced on-air he was stepping away.
In his emotional speech Mr Koch said he was finding it harder to "get off the ground" for the show and it was time for the next generation.
The following week his replacement was revealed as fill-in presenter Matt Shirvington.
The former Olympic athlete competed at the 2000 Sydney games and has been co-hosting the show on a Friday.
He said it was an "honour and privilege" to take on the new role from June 12.
Seven West Media Chairman Kerry Stokes paid tribute to Mr Koch's contribution to the breakfast show.
"David has played a central part in turning around the fortunes of the Seven Network over the past two decades to where we continue to dominate the ratings from dawn with Sunrise, a program he has been with since October 2002," Mr Stokes said.
