Our annual sponsor Nutrien was onboard again, and we thank them for their continued support.
Conditions were excellent for the early morning starters and the wind never picked up until mid-morning.
Although the air was still crisp, it was pleasant day out on the course.
The regular pairing of Ian Phipps and Phil Smith got themselves back in the winning arena with a well compiled 46 points.
Ian has been knocking on the door in singles events, so he obviously just needed the steadying influence of Phil to reach the podium.
Both players will take this good form forward to the club championships.
In the individual stakes, the course couldn't be beaten with a par round of 36 points by Ray Maxwell winning the day.
Again, we were off the blue plates playing the course at its longest, and the 9mm of rain took a fair bit of run off the surface.
Ray also has been a stranger to the podium so the corner boys would have enjoyed the shouts prior to lockdown.
Ray was closely followed in by Mark Kelly showing some form at last and Ken Cobcroft making a rare Saturday appearance.
Nym Dziuba finally turned his Thursday veterans form into a Saturday round, and Dub Rogers enjoyed the warmer day, all players hit a solid 35 points.

Club Championships are still scheduled for Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend, with the final round on Saturday, August 28.
Obviously this will depend on any further changes to the COVID restrictions currently in place.
Golf is considered exercise in during stay-at-home orders, so you can still play a round - but there are obviously COVID-safe measures in place.
