PLENTY of talented Parkes Shire runners will be travelling up the Newell Highway this Sunday to compete in a Dubbo Harness Racing Club meeting that features heats for next Friday night's $9000 Dubbo Show Society Final.

Two $6000 heats will be run at this Sunday's day meeting, and three Parkes-trained runners are lining up in Heat 1 while Heat 2 will be dominated by Dubbo and Bathurst-based trainers.
Securing the gun draw in Heat 1 is James Clyburn's Jaytees Hat, previously at fellow Parkes trainer Darryle Rusten's stable.
The mare has won just one of 16 starts and has a National Rating of 37 making her a bit outclassed in this field - but favourable gate will be much appreciated despite drawing alongside the classy Reason To Party, who won last start in Penrith.
Lou Cee, trained by talented young Parkes reinsman and new trainer William Cassell will be looking to find a good spot early from fifth on the front row, but the filly has been improving steadily of late with a couple of closely-run minor placings.
She'll be at decent each-way odds and is certainly not out of it.

Veteran trainer Malcolm Hutchings will be driving his inconsistent filly Moreartsthanclass, though to be fair she's been racing in much stronger company since her maiden win on September 27, 2020 in Parkes.
At her best, she can also challenge at a healthy price.
Despite the series being for runners with two or less lifetime wins, there is a handy field in this heat, and the Parkes trio will be challenged by Thirsty Sportsman, Surf Ace and Shesa Pocketrocket.
The latter in particular is an intriguing prospect; an Art Major mare who won in 1:59.7 at Parkes two starts back after arriving at the Martin Simmons stable from Victoria.
Surf Ace has drawn sticky, but the colt enjoyed some solid runs at Forbes at their two meetings this fortnight and with Nathan Turnbull in the gig he will be a threat.
The first feature heat will kick off at 2.04pm.
