Fifty players took part in the 18-hole event with Grenfell winning the teams competition, while local players also won both A and B grades.
A grade was a close run event with 14-handicapper Peter Mawhinney carding 35 points to win on a count back from Forbes' Ted Morgan who played off 13.
It was a one-two finish for Grenfell in B grade with Leanne Young (38 points) a comfortable winner over another local Craig Bembrick who compiled 35 points.
In the teams event Grenfell won comfortably with 108 points followed by Forbes (97), West Wyalong (94), Parkes (83), Condobolin (78) and Cowra (41).
This Thursday Parkes hosts the weekly veterans 12-hole competition.
Players are reminded that tee-off is at the new time of 1pm.

PARKES GOLF
Saturday saw the Telescope Tyres & Batteries/Hankook Masters Monthly Medal sponsored by 1300 Bugman. Our thanks to the sponsors and to Paul Lewin and team for their ongoing support of the PGC. There were 99 players in total out enjoying the course before Nigel and team commence green renovations this week.
In A grade only five players shot in the 70's this week with Luke Clarke holding off the challenges to fire a 75 off the stick to take the scratch prize. It also gave Luke a very good 68 nett but he was swamped by Robert "Bubbler" Cheney, who had an outstanding 65 nett off a 77 scratch score. Robert also missed three easy putts so it could have a been a career best score with a bit more concentration.
We welcomed a new member, Michael Haydon, from Cowra this week. Michael is a 2 handicapper and he fired a handy 78 on his first outing as a member.
In B Grade Jack Matthews had all comers covered as he took both the scratch and nett trophies on the day. Jack had a solid 86 off the stick that returned a 71 nett on the day. Jack has been seen out on the course getting a bit of extra practice in and this obviously stood out on Saturday.
Jack beat Kieran Deland on a countback for the scratch trophy. Kieran has been away from the course for a period with a neck injury, but this looks to have healed sufficiently to get those big drives down the fairway again.
Jack also fended Peter Picker off with his 71 for the nett award.
In C grade once again, the scratch and nett were picked up by the same person - in this case Neville Kennedy.
Neville has been getting out in the early groups of late and this proved the winning formula again. Neville fired a 89 off the stick which returned a hot 67 nett on the day. This will see a few shots shaved off the handicap when he next presents to the starter.
Aaron Huppatz continued his good form to be a few strokes back in both the scratch and nett. Our sponsor Paul Lewin also fired on the day and he too saw some comfort strokes disappear off his handicap.
In the Wally Norman Medal Phil Bishop showed his consistency once again by having a fine 70 nett, 78 scratch, to take home the award. His tuition from the Tuesday morning golfers no doubt helps in the big arena. In the Griffins Leading Edge Putting competition, Robert Cheney once again proved that it is the magical 24/25 putts per round that will win the trophy as his 24 putts picked up the prize.

On Sunday the club hosted the annual Rotary Golf Day, with major sponsor being Westlime. This was the 17th outing of this event and it has had many memorable days in the past. This was another as the wind was a howler from the south west and all 60 competitors knew they'd been out in it on returning to the warm and inviting clubhouse.
The Rotary team looked after all players with the 1/2 way house operating a BBQ and the clubhouse also having a BBQ underway. The event was a 3 person Ambrose and the winners on the day were Riall Harrison, Mick Kable and Anthony Lock. As to be expected this team went low with an 8 under score that couldn't be matched on the day.
Runners Up were Brendan Chambers, Chris Harrison and Ricky Frame. The longest drive went to Chris Harrison in the men with a solid 280m into the wind on the 8th and Lyn Davison in the women. Josh Cheney was the big winner on the day picking up the raffle organised by the Rotary team. Thanks to Colin Offner for his assistance in arranging the day.
This week is there is an 18 hole 4BBB Multiplier stableford with an individual in conjunction sponsored by Cheney's Constructions.
