It's looking to drive visitation to the region and maximise patronage to local businesses throughout our townships; building on the appeal of the region's key tourism experiences that offer safe, affordable and memorable holiday experiences - all within an hour's drive of Parkes.
Parkes Shire Mayor Cr Ken Keith OAM was excited to announce the launch of the campaign that will encourage visitors to scan QR codes on a hunt that may see them win a $100 Shop Parkes voucher.
"The Easter adventure campaign invites visitors on a scavenger hunt across our region to discover the many incredible local attractions we have to offer," said Cr Keith.
"The excitement of the challenge is further heightened by the incentive to be in with a chance to win $1000 in Parkes shopping dollars by collecting all 10 QR codes from the identified locations on the map.
"From listening to the sounds of universe at 'The Dish' to rocking back in time at the Henry Parkes Centre museums or wandering the awe-inspiring Peak Hill Gold Mine and public art trail across the Shire, there is something to keep the whole family entertained this Easter."
Cr Keith was also keen to point out that there are a number of amazing attractions in surrounding shires in close proximity.
"There are also many iconic experiences available within an hour's drive from Parkes Shire; including the Wellington Caves, Cowra's Japanese Gardens and Dubbo's Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
"The campaign will also appeal to the local market, encouraging our community to explore local attractions in Parkes and nearby townships and go in the draw to win some Shop Parkes dollars," Cr Keith added.
Whilst on a day trip or out and about visitors and locals are encouraged to support our local businesses by grabbing a coffee, having a meal at a local café or eatery and shopping at the local boutiques and shops.
