The Parkes Day VIEW Club's first meeting of the year was very well attended, with all the ladies very happy to catch up with each other after the holidays.

We all have been looking forward to having our VIEW Club routine, back to seeing each other, and working to raise money to support our Smith Family Learning for Life school children.

It is our hope that we will be able to regularly meet at a business meeting, plus have activities like the trivia night that is held twice a year.

We certainly missed all this in 2020, with all the restrictions of the COVID-19 rules.

The same members of 2020 were then installed as officers and committee members for 2021, since the club was unable to hold elections last year in November as usual.

This was with the agreement of our members, plus VIEW Head Office.

After the formalities of the annual AGM and the February business meeting, the officers and committee members were welcomed by one and all members as they applauded and cheered.

The Parkes Day VIEW Club officers are: President Vicki Archer; vice president Krys Szabo; secretary Wendy Stoker; assistant secretary Pamela Ward; treasurer Zelma Fisher; delegate Clare Dunne; assistant secretary Pamela Ward; publicity officer Sue McLennan; committee members Shirley Barklimore, Colleen Carter and Margaret Newham.

So the Parkes community is invited to join us on March 9 at the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club at 7pm.

The entrance fee is $10 for the home-cooked supper, and there will be handfuls of chocolates to be given out during the night to each winner of the quiz questions.

Please contact Wendy to book a table of six - 0497 017 459.

A short PS: If any lady would like to come to one of our meetings to check out the club, also contact Wendy.
