She's the only trainer working out of the Parkes Jockey Club, but Parkes trainer Sharon Jeffries doesn't get a chance to race her runners here very often - so Saturday is a big day.

With COVID-19 restrictions forcing the cancellation of the popular annual Parkes Picnic Races, there hasn't been racing here since a spectator-free Parkes Cup day on May 17 of last year.
Despite that, Jeffries has been thriving over the past couple of months at country tracks around the Central West, and she is stoked to finally be able to race at home.
"We don't have a chance to race here in Parkes very often, so both Dale (husband) and I are really looking forward to seeing how the horses go on their favourite track," says Jeffries.
"They always seem to race pretty well here, they get up and about seeing all the different horses and people step onto their home turf!"
Jeffries, and husband Dale who is the sole trackwork rider at the moment, have two runners engaged in the meeting: Flashlin and Coulpa.
Coulpa, who has drawn barrier 10, will have Andrew Banks aboard, and the gelding's consistency (two wins and three minor placings in his last seven starts) will see him well placed in a pretty open field.
"Coulpa has been racing really well of late, he only went down by a nostril last start so I definitely think he is ready to win on Saturday," Jeffries says.
Flashlin is attempting to break her maiden in the first race of the day, and from barrier 6, jockey Michael Heagney will be confident the four-year-old gelding can give this race a real shake on his home track.
Even more impressive than the strong results coming out of the Jeffries stable of late has been the fact they've paid an absolute pittance to secure some of their best horses.
"We've been lucky over the past few months, having success with some ridiculously cheap horses.
"We bought Maria Elisa for only $700 and Coulpa cost just $600 - we just look for horses that will be suitable for out here and we get them, love them and give them a bit of TLC."
A wander through the Jeffries stables confirms just that, with the stars of the show Gunter the (very loud) goat and Astro - the stable 'class clown' that can't stand still for more than a second but radiates happiness and love.
There are seven races on the card on Saturday, with race 1 beginning at 2.01pm.
The rail will be in the true position, with the track likely to be rated a Good 4. Gates open at 12pm, and full bar, catering and TAB facilities are available for those on-course. Free entry for Parkes Services Club members.
